Get your game face on at the free Wan Chai Sports Carnival

Ah, Wan Chai – home to sleazy nightclubs, cheap retailers, and… fitness freaks?

You heard right! The district is getting physical next weekend with the inaugural Wan Chai Sports Carnival, co-hosted by Causeway Bay’s Fashion Walk and the Wan Chai Sports Federation.

From 2:30pm to 5pm on Sunday, August 2, a variety of athletic activities will be put on at the Wan Chai Sports Federation and Fashion Walk on Paterson Street.

The afternoon’s events at Fashion Walk include a kickboxing workshop (hot trainers included), an environmentally friendly stationary bike station, and a health check where you can find out exactly how fat you are and where. Lovely.

Alternately, the Wan Chai Sports Federation will offer a crash course in the body-popping, booty-locking art of K-pop dance, and “leisure table tennis,” which – if you know anything about Hongkongers and ping pong – is rather oxymoronic.

If you’re into exercising the boring old-fashioned way, the carnival will also host a community run at the Causeway Bay Sports Ground during the same time.

Who knows? This might actually be a good way to meet real life fitness friends, though you’re probably too busy flirting with randoms on Jaha.
