Bruno, a seven-month-old Shar Pei mix has been found almost two weeks after he was last seen on the Pulse Promenade in Repulse Bay. His owners, the Muñoz family, had put up a HKD30,000 reward for his safe capture and return.

Shortly after 3pm today, Coconuts Hong Kong received an email from Sarah, a reader telling us they may have found Bruno in Repulse Bay. However, no-one was answering when she called the phone number in the original article we wrote about Bruno’s disappearance.

We quickly launched into action mode, and after a flurry of Google Hangout messages, Facebook messages, and emails, we tracked down Bruno’s owners’ daughter, Devin, who gave us an alternative number.

We relayed the info back to Sarah, who eventually got in touch with Bruno’s owners. Devin’s mum sped off to meet Sarah, and to her relief, the pup Sarah found was indeed Bruno!

In other words, we totally saved the day!

“He has lost quite a bit of weight and has a cut on his leg,” Devin told us.

“My mom said he was nervous but when he saw them he was extremely happy,” she continued.

Sarah told us she was “so happy he’s home safe”.

“He was skinny and dirty but otherwise unharmed,” she said.

We’re so pleased Bruno has been reunited safe and sound with his family. #GoodNewsDay.
