Acclaimed bassoon quartet ‘The Breaking Winds’ to blend classical, pop and chuckles in Hong Kong

Think classical music is only for boring, old farts? The appropriately titled Breaking Winds might just turn you into one.

The famous all-female bassoon quartet will be performing their classical-pop crossover tunes at the Fringe Club next Thursday night for what is sure to be an evening of entertaining surprises.

Hailing from the US, these four ladies are known for their jazzed-up classical arrangements, complete with a dash of comedy (whoopee cushions are not uncommon at their concerts).

Whether it be a cinematic piece or a Renaissance motet, the quartet is bound to make you appreciate this oft-misunderstood classical instrument a little better.

If nothing else, there’ll probably be the occasional fart joke.
