Man allegedly punches driver after bus misses his stop, cheerily poses for photo

A passenger allegedly hit a bus driver on Sunday after the double-decker didn’t stop at his intended destination.

A photo of the passenger, surnamed Shek, throwing up a victory sign (a.k.a. a peace sign) in front of the driver, surnamed Liu, who was laying on the ground, went viral atfer it was posted online, reports Oriental Daily.

At around 8pm on Sunday, Liu drove his 60X-line bus towards Tuen Mun City Centre when Shek, who reportedly had not pressed the bell to signal the bus driver to stop, missed his station at the Kwai Chung Interchange. Shek immediately asked Liu to stop the bus but Liu refused, and the two started to argue.

The two continued their fight in the bus terminal. During the fight, Shek pushed his chest against Liu and pointed his fingers at Lui’s face.

Liu turned around to report the incident to the bus station manager but before he could, Shek punched him on his left eye and he fell to the ground.

The manager called the police after the incident and took the now infamous photo. Shek was brought to the police station for further investigation.

Shek later claimed that he did indeed ring the bell to signal the bus driver to stop.

“I am sure that I did ring the bell but the bus driver drove past the station and he blamed it on me” Shek complained.

“If he apologises, then the situation can be solved, but now I cannot go to work because of him.”

The driver also reportedly took a day off work.
