Elderly street stall owner splashed with red paint in Sham Shui Po

At 1:10 am today a woman surnamed Diu was pushing a cart along Ap Liu Street in Sham Shui Po to set up her street stall. Suddenly, an unidentified man, dressed in all black, spashed a paper cup of red paint onto her, covering her chest and face.

The suspect ran away from the scene immediately, reports Oriental Daily. The victim, aged 69, was sent to hospital… for some unknown reason.

The police suspect the incident is related to the distribution of licenses for the stalls, and are considering it as a case of assault and property damage.

They are looking for a man who is approximately in his 50s and about 1.7 metres tall.

Last month, two unknown men poured a bucket of red paint on a 79-year-old woman near where this morning’s incident happened. The paint was splashed into the victim’s eyes and on her two dogs.

The two suspects are also still at large.
