‘One man music machine’ hailed as the new Prince (by Prince) live in Hong Kong next week

You might not have heard of Darren Hart, otherwise known as “Harts”, but those you can trust to know about these things – such as Rolling Stone magazine and (the artist formally, and now, known as) Prince – love him.

The Indian-born Australian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer was last year casually flown out to Prince’s Paisley Park Studios in Minneapolis for a jam, as the pop legend said, “He reminds me of how I was at that age.”

How’s that for a narcissistic compliment of a lifetime?

The 22-year-old will now bring what Rolling Stone describes as his “blistering guitar shredding and the electro-funk pop perfection of Prince in his eighties prime” to Hong Kong’s LOFT 22 on Wednesday Oct. 28.

Harts writes all his music, plays all the instruments and records his work singlehandedly from his bedroom studio, prompting Aussie national radio station Triple J to dub him “A one man music making machine.”

Don’t believe them? Check out this video and get chowing down on that headgear.
