The eldest daughter of Hong Kong’s Chief Executive CY Leung slapped her mother twice on Sunday morning in front of a crowd in Lan Kwai Fong after Halloween festivities.
Leung Chai-yan, 24, in a Halloween costume and white make-up, was seen slapping her mother, Regina Tong, twice before being escorted away by taxi at 3am. A huge crowd of bystanders and press gathered during the incident, reports SCMP.
Leung, who was with two other friends, appeared to be emotionally unstable as she was escorted into a taxi by bouncers in front of cameramen waiting outside a club.
“What the f*** is wrong with you lot? Stop taking pictures of my friend” she yelled in Cantonese.
Her mother was there to try and help Leung into the taxi. The 24-year-old slapped her twice in the face while sitting in the car and refused to let her mother get into the vehicle.
“You know this mom is not my actual biological mother,” she told her crowd. A male voice told Leung not to say anything after her comment.
Leung was joined by a male acquaintance known as “Arthur” as she finally left. Her mother was not with her, as seen from an Apple Daily video.
Hong Kong’s First Daughter has had some well documented run-ins with her family. In June last year, she admitted to HKEJ that she has attempted to cut her wrist. She also criticised her mother for being a different person behind closed doors, and said she is “largely to blame” for the troubles she is going through.
She also criticised her mother on a separate occasion on Facebook in July 2014, saying “Courage and loyalty are the virtues I value the most. My mother embodies the exact opposites of both”.
Earlier this year, Leung also announced that she was leaving home after an explosive row with her parents, forcing her father to hold a press conference saying his daughter has emotional and health problems.
