Udderbelly Festival moo-ving to HK for international debut

Udderbelly, the purple, upside down, cow-shaped theatre is due to make its international debut in Hong Kong this week. First unveiled at the venerated Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the theatre has since become the centrepiece of Udderbelly Festival on London’s South Bank.

Following its success in London, the Festival will make the Central Harbourfront Event Space its pasture for 11 weeks starting Friday. The festival programme boasts some of the best shows and artists from the UK and Australia, many of whom were plucked from the Edinburgh Fringe, as well as a local programme featuring Hong Kong acts.

Udderbelly promises to be fun for all the family, with circus, dance, music and family shows, as well as sing-a-long cinema, comedy and cabaret. Let’s face it – even if kids aren’t impressed with the acts, they’ll probably be chuffed to be inside a giant upside down purple cow, so it’s a win-win either way; although we sincerely hope your Udderbelly experience is full of belly laughs (how udderly cheesy of us).

What: Udderbelly Festival
When: Friday Dec. 4 – mid Feb. 2016 (TBC)
Where: Central Harbourfront Event Space
