Causeway Bay ‘snow’ turns out to be advertising ploy for HMV (VIDEO)

The mystery of yesterday’s second snow video has been solved, to our dismay.

The clip, which showed snow-like specks swirling around on Paterson Street in Causeway Bay, has been debunked as the work of an articial snow machine by a Coconaut who helpfully sent us the above video.

One commenter’s theory that the entire thing was a marketing ploy by HMV turned out to be right on the money, as a visit to HMV Hong Kong’s Facebook page confirmed.

We can’t say we’re totally surprised, given that even Hong Kong’s highest peak was only graced with frost. We are a bit sad to have to let our dreams of a snowy Hong Kong go, though… *cue sad singalong to Let it Go*
