Boaring news: yet another pig on the loose in Hong Kong

Breaking news, Coconauts. In an unlikely turn of events, a wild boar was spotted roaming the streets of Hong Kong on Wednesday morning.

For those of you who actually follow our feed, you’ll know that’s complete crap. This is in fact the third sighting in recent weeks.

The wandering hog was seen exploring the Chuk Yuen Estate in Kowloon by an observant netizen, who posted photographic evidence on a Facebook group for notable Hong Kong events.

Vocal Facebook users called for the protection of the boar in response, and blamed the “human invasion” for the rise in wild boar sightings, SCMP reports.

Animal welfare experts are blaming development projects and construction around country parks for the increased presence of pigs in the city.

Apparently, neither the police nor the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department had received any reports about the latest case.

Last month, a wild boar was spotted running free outside the Conrad International Hotel in Admiralty. Two days later, police ended up chasing a boar for five hours around Hong Kong Park, until a government animal control worker eventually managed to tranquilise it.
