Customs officer found dead in apparent suicide at Hong Kong airport

At 1pm today, a male customs officer was found dead at the Hong Kong airport.

According to Apple Daily, he was found in the locker room of an air cargo customs station still in his uniform. An ambulance was called to the scene but he was declared dead at the scene.

The officer, who had joined the department in 1997, reportedly had a gunshot wound to his head. A gun was found by his side.  He had entered the changing room alone, reports Apple Daily.

It is the third case of a government official shooting himself in a suicide or attempted suicide in the past month, according to the newspaper.
