Temperatures expected to hit 10 degrees next week, thanks to ‘cold front’

While Hong Kong has seen a rather pleasant spell of warm, sunny days recently, we’re afraid to say that it (apparently) won’t last.

The Hong Kong Observatory’s nine-day-forecast shows conditions cooling considerably over the the tail end of next week, with temperatures on Friday March 11 predicted to range between 10 and 13 degrees Celsius.

Following record low temperatures in January, Taiwanese weather service Weather on Ground recently predicted more chilly climes coming our way due to a “band of Arctic air” gathering over southern Siberia, western Mongolia and northern Xinjiang.

A senior scientific officer at the Observatory told the SCMP that “an intense northeast monsoon” would cause temperatures to drop over the region, starting next Wednesday.
