Turn down for what? Paul Oakenfold, Afrojack and Lil Jon to hit Pacha Macau this spring

Pacha Macau, the latest incarnation of the world-famous nightclub chain, is keeping your schedule extra full this spring with an impressive lineup hitting the self-proclaimed first “mega club” in Asia. It could well be time to shine up your dancing shoes, with DJ Paul Oakenfold, Afrojack, Lil’ Jon, DJ Chuckie and A-Trak all making appearances in our sister SAR. If you thought Carnegie’s got crowded on Wan Chai Wednesdays, wait until you’re partying with 3,000 other people – the venue’s maximum capacity.

April 9 sees longtimer DJ Paul Oakenfold making his debut at Pacha Macau, which is located at Studio City. (The new-ish hotel is perhaps best known for bringing in the Hollywood Italian-American A-list trifecta of Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert DeNiro and Martin Scorsese for its launch  –reportedly shelling out USD17 million to each actor.) The British DJ has performed all over the globe, has three Grammy nominations up his sleeve and has been voted number-one DJ in the world twice – NBD. Pacha Macau is also giving visitors the chance to meet and greet the man himself so you can finally shake the hand that produces turntable magic.

Only a week later, on April 16, Oakenfold will be followed by Dutch DJ Afrojack, who has collaborated with the likes of Pitbull and Snoop Dogg and is regularly featured in the leading 10 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list.

It’s going to be “to the window, to the wall” on May 13 if you want to catch American rapper Lil Jon and his bejeweled teeth. Let’s be honest, Lil Jon is pretty much a guarantee if you end up in Rula Bula on a Saturday night and we’d all be lying if we’d said we were too cool to know the lyrics to “Turn down for what”. So, what’s not to love about singing along to it with another 3000 party-goers live in Macau?

These three are just some of the many names coming to Pacha Macau over the coming months. Big names like Quebécois turntablist-extraordinaire A-Trak, electro house artist DJ Chuckie, and up-and-coming British DJ Mark Knight will also be stopping by along with local Macau group MDMA. What’s more, a “Chic Ladies Night” will happen the Friday before each event, with free drinks for between 10pm-2am, should that float your boat.
