Temperatures set to soar as humidity drops at the start of May

Looks like all those chronic #JunkSeason Instagrammers (you know who you are) are finally going to get what they’ve been pining for, as temperatures are set to soar while the humidity lessens at the start of May.

According to the Observatory, Hong Kong is going to experience its warmest weather in five months next week, with maximum temperatures for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday forecasted to hit a sweltering 29 degrees Celsius.

Don’t pull out the swimmers and suncream just yet, though – the rainy weather is expected to continue until next Tuesday, with a trough of low pressure bringing thundery showers to Pearl River estuary region.

A drop in humidity is also to be expected, according to the HKO. We can practically hear the collective sigh of relief from the city’s slickest (as in, from sweat) professionals.

While humidity levels are currently hovering around the 80s-90s, Friday will see a brief drop in range to 65-85 percent, while humidity levels for next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are predicted to range from 75-95 percent.
