Watch Joseph Gordon-Levitt hide out in Hong Kong in the Edward Snowden biopic

The new trailer for Snowden – NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden’s biopic starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt – has just dropped.

While the majority of the two-and-a-half-minute trailer shows Gordon-Levitt being all shades of morally conflicted while at work in an NSA facility in Hawaii, the clip is bookended with shots from Hong Kong.

Snowden himself joked on his own Twitter page that “everybody at NSA stopped working” to watch the biopic’s trailer when it was released yesterday.

Snowden drew international attention in 2013 when he leaked thousands of classified NSA documents to journalists Laura Poitras, Glenn Greenwald, and Ewen MaccAskill while hiding in Hong Kong.

The film, which was directed by Oliver Stone, is due to be released in the US on Sept. 16. No release date has been set for Hong Kong at the time of writing.
