Off-duty cop allegedly bites man during escalator scuffle at Shenzhen border

At around 2am yesterday, an off-duty police officer reportedly bit somebody during a scuffle at the Lok Ma Chau border control point.

The 53-year-old officer, surnamed Lo, had just returned to Hong Kong from mainland China. Apple Daily reports that while he was on an escalator, Lo accidentally trod on the feet of a couple surnamed Auyeung (aged 55 and 33).

They then got into an argument, during which Mr. Auyeung apparently pointed his finger in Lo’s face.

At that point, Lo (who we guess forgot the decorum expected of police officers and/or babies who have finished teething), allegedly bit Auyeung’s finger.

Lo was arrested on suspicion of assault, and later released on bail. Auyeung was taken to hospital and the case has been referred to the Border District Criminal Investigation Team.
