2 Pokémon Go players attacked by knife-wielding gang of 10 in Kowloon

Two Pokémon Go players were attacked in Kowloon last night by a gang of 10 knife-wielding men.

At around 9pm, two men of South Asian descent were playing Pokémon Go in Tsz Wan Shan Estate Central Playground when they collided with two young Hong Kong men in front of them, HK01 reports.

After getting into a verbal altercation, both pairs parted ways.

However, the two Hong Kong men reportedly returned soon afterwards with 10 or more mask-wearing men, aged between 20 to 25, carrying knives and sticks.

The gang circled the two Pokémon players, who immediately started running away. The gang chased them to the corner of Wai Wah street slipped when one of the players tripped and fell.

He was attacked by the mask-wearing men and sustained injuries to his forehead and back.

The assailants fled after passersby called the police and an ambulance to take the victim, a 23-year-old man of Pakistani descent, to hospital for treatment.

Police officers who arrived at the scene didn’t find any of the suspects, who had fled in separate directions. No arrests have been made so far. The investigation continues.
