Man dons skirt and wig to steal HKD900 high heels in the middle of the night

A man was arrested after he reportedly tried to steal a pair of heels from a Kwun Tong office in the middle of the night, while wearing women’s clothing.

At around 12:40am, the suspect, a 33-year-old man surnamed Wong, reportedly nicked a pair of HKD900 high heels placed in the hallway of in an industrial building on Wai Yip Street.

Oriental Daily reports that the owner of the shoes, a 25-year-old woman surnamed Chan, soon realised the shoes were missing. She notified the building’s security guard, who caught Wong – wearing a long wig and miniskirt – as he was coming out of the lift.

Police arrived on the scene and arrested Wong on suspicion of attempted theft. According to Apple Daily, he is Chan’s neighbour.

At the time of writing, it isn’t clear whether Wong is transgender, a cross-dresser, or was merely trying to disguise himself during a crime.
