Gin-spired: Asia’s premier gin festival is coming to Hong Kong and it’s going to be THE BOMB!

One mother’s ruin is another’s saviour, and mother, do we savour gin! Not only is it delicious and alcoholic, it’s also incredibly hot right now, as in trendy.

So trendy, in fact, that it’s had its own dedicated festival, the East Imperial Gin Jubilee, for the last three years in Singapore. But 2016 is extra special as the gin-bulations are now going regional, with additional events in Kuala Lumpur, Phnom Penh, Bangkok… and… you guessed it, HONG KONG!!

As proud exclusive media partners of this gin-ius event, Coconuts Hong Kong will be bestowing our dear readers with tonnes of info, loads of goodies and plenty more terrible gin puns. We guess we’re just feeling gin-erous.

But enough about us. The Hong Kong leg of the East Imperial Gin Jubilee will bring the world’s finest gins like Sipsmith, Aviation, and Tanqueray No. Ten to the city’s best bars, uniting novices and aficionados alike in a fuzzy, juniper-soaked puddle of pure delight.

The festivities will begin with a “Tunes & Tonic” kick off party at Potato Head on Aug. 30, feature a series of masterclasses in the middle (“Oysters ’n’ Tonic”, anyone?), and end with a buzzing Gin Lane Street Party at Causeway Bay’s Haven Street on Sept. 3.

Coconuts Hong Kong will be hosting 10 lucky readers at the “Gin Ramble Bar Trail”, an exclusive guided tour of some of the best bars Hong Kong has to offer. We’ll also be sloshing out drinks galore from our own pop-up bar at the Gin Lane closing party with the help of leading craft spirits distributor Proof & Company.

Over the five-day festival, 18 local bars will also take part in the Best Gin & Tonic competition – trust us, you never knew there could be so much variation in this seemingly simple drink. And attendees have the chance to win a two-day trip to the Singapore grand finale Jubilee in November by posting the “Best Ginstagram”, AKA the most creative gin-related Instagram post taken during the festival.

Keep your eyes on us for more info about these and other events over the coming days. For now, though, all you need to know is that ALL EVENTS ARE FREE to attend, and they all involve gin. And if gin’s not your drink… it sucks to be you!
