Got Milk? Hong Kong man accused of stealing coworker’s breast milk

A 37-year-old male IT technician has been charged with one count of theft after he allegedly stole his female coworker’s container of breast milk.

The defendant, surnamed Lam, was charged at the Eastern Law Courts yesterday morning.

According to HK01, the alleged theft occurred earlier this year, after the unidentified plaintiff had just returned from maternity leave.

On March 8, the new mother, who had been pumping breast milk regularly at her workplace in Shau Kei Wan, found that her container of already-pumped milk was missing from the office fridge and complained to the company.

The technician was arrested in April after CCTV footage reportedly linked him to the theft.

The hearing has been adjourned until Dec. 6 of this year, to allow for further investigation by the prosecution.
