Star Ferry’s launching a route between Tsim Sha Tsui and Disneyland and a brand new harbour tour by the end of the year, it was announced today.

A ferry called “World Star”, which was retired in 2011, has been renovated and given the new soul-crushing purpose of schlepping visitors from one tourist hotspot to another. We kid, we kid. This actually seems like a great way to hit all the sights in one go, provided you don’t get seasick.

At the (revamped) World Star’s inagural voyage today, Johnny Leung, general manager of the Star Ferry Company, said the ferry would take passengers from Tsim Sha Tsui to Disneyland in the morning and bring them back at dusk.

Leung said the return journey would pass by attractions such as Tsing Ma Bridge and… the Kwai Tsing container terminals. Oh Leung, the end of that sentence really let you down.

Return packages will cost roughly HKD180, and the route is expected to begin service by the end of this month at the very earliest, HK01 reports.

On top of that, the World Star will also be available for an evening harbour tour, priced at around HKD200, where tourists will get to “ooh” and “ahh” at the nightly light show from where we can’t hear them.

Leung added that the Star Ferry would consider hiring out its boats for charter tours, weddings, and parties in the future.
