A 45-year-old Filipino domestic helper, who was accused of molesting her employer’s son for over three years, said that she was a lesbian in court yesterday.
The woman, whose identity must remain anonymous for legal reasons, told the court that she’s never even had sex with a man before (let alone the kid). She added that she is a lesbian, and said that she’d had two girlfriends since coming to Hong Kong in 2001.
It is alleged that the woman molested the boy multiple times between 2011 and 2013, starting when he was just eight years old, SCMP reports. However, the woman pleaded not guilty to three counts of indecent assault on Tuesday.
The court heard that penetrative sex was among the alleged acts.
The worker denied the claims and expressed her shock at the allegations, despite commenting on previously believing the boy to be honest and the fact that she got along with him well.
However, the helper did admit that she had spent time alone with the boy since her employment began in 2007, and that she was strong enough to drag the child.
The first alleged incident apparently happened in 2011, after the worker reportedly told the child that she would no longer take care of him. When the boy tried to prevent her from leaving, the woman allegedly dragged him to his room and molested him.
The boy, who testified earlier, claimed that there were other similar incidents.
He also implied that he was unaware of what was going on until he received sex education lessons at primary school last year. The allegations then surfaced before he moved on to secondary school, as he was apparently anxious that he had done something wrong.
The case continues today.
