One person is missing after being thrown overboard a riverboat in the waters off Wang Chau Island this afternoon.
HK01 reports that the boat, carrying 13 people, tipped over at 3:31pm, just six minutes after the Hong Kong Observatory hoisted an Amber Rainstorm Warning.
A T3 signal, indicating strong wind, has also been in force since 1:40pm yesterday.
Twelve passengers have been rescued by authorities, according to RTHK. One person remains missing.
A joint search by the police force and Fire Services Department is underway. A Government Flying Services helicopter has been dispatched to aid the search, but was forced to stop in Wan Chai temporarily due to low visibility.
