Always looking for ways to make your hair bouncier? The latest illgeal import seized at Hong Kong International Airport might have helped, but it would have cost you.
A 20-year-old man will appear at Tsuen Wan Magistrates’ Court today, charged with trafficking a dangerous drug from Rio de Janeiro, via Dubai, to Hong Kong.
He was arrested on Tuesday when customs officers detected 2.4 kilograms of suspected liquid cocaine hidden in hair care products of different brands, including Elvive, whose tagline is “Because I’m worth it”. We can only assume the officers became suspicious of a man with more than one type of shampoo.
The suspected drugs are estimated to have a street value of around HKD2.6 million. If found guilty, the man could face a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a fine of HKD5 million.
