Mainland Chinese tourist beaten unconscious outside jewellery store in a dispute over ‘forced’ purchase

A tourist from mainland China has been hospitalised after being beaten unconscious outside a jewellery store in Hung Hom, reports suggest.

The victim, said to be in his 50s, was with a tour group of 19 at a jewellery store in Kaiser Estate Phase Two, Man Lok Street, when an argument broke out between a female tourist and their guide.

“A female tour member allegedly had a dispute with the tour guide as she did not want to make a purchase in the shop,” a police source told the SCMP.

The male tour member apparently waded into the argument and a scuffle broke out, during which four men reportedly rushed in and beat the man unconscious.

The gang fled the scene before the police arrived, while both the male and female tourists and the tour guide were arrested for fighting in public.

Eesh, happy holidays, guys.
