A mother was spotted shoving her two-years and nine-months old son in a trash can yesterday when he decided to throw a tantrum.
The incident happened on Water Street in Sai Ying Pun, when shopkeepers and passersby witnessed a mother, taking her son home from school, get frustrated and shoved her son into the public rubbish bin as punishment.
Passersby felt that it was a bit cruel for the mother to treat her son like that but when Apple Daily reporters caught up with her the next day she explained that her son is extremely naughty and yesterday he was throwing a fit because they didn’t go to the supermarket. She expressed that she just wanted to teach him a lesson and could not think of a better solution at the time.
Other parents, who witnessed the incident, felt the mother’s parenting method a bit harsh and unnecessary and advises she wait until she is home in future to scold her son in private, rather than humiliate him in public.
