Shortly after 1am this morning, the police arrested a man, 38, for kicking a bottle from the central divider on Lung Wo Road that hit a traveling car.

The police released a statement saying that during the arrest, a large crowd “attempted to obstruct” officers and that they used pepper spray to discharge the protesters after warnings were ignored.

Three members of the police force were injured while another man, 24, was arrested for assaulting an officer.

The police statement emphasised “any acts endangering public safety and order” – like, you know, six police officers beating up one civilian – “will not be tolerated”.
