Hong Kong flower company tests delivering bouquets by drone (VIDEO)

Drones will apparently be solving all of our most pressing needs.

Need some chocolate? A drone’s got you covered. Need a bouquet delivered stat to your significant other but you can’t be arsed to do it yourself? A drone’s got you covered.

Local company Gift Flowers HK is no stranger to publicity antics, having already announced that all of the bouquets delivered on Valentine’s Day will be delivered by tuxedo-donning dudes.

But they’re upping the ante by testing flower deliveries by drone, and filming it to boot.

“Our company has tested using drones to deliver flowers to beat the heavy traffic in Hong Kong,” said founder Justin Chung.

“I believe we are the first in Hong Kong and Asia to try this, and although there’s still a lot of work to be done before we can actually employ drones, the scheme is most heartening.”

Drones are cool, but we’d think we’d be more impressed if our suitors made the delivery by foot.
