Former Ming Pao editor, Kevin Lau, who was brutally attacked with a chopper, sustaining deep cuts through his back and legs wrote about his attack, which was posted on the Ming Pao website.
Lau admits to have been conscious when he took the number of stabs and cuts to his body. He wrote about how he didn’t feel much pain and that he couldn’t feel his legs at the time, but because he was conscious he was able to call the police.
Lau’s severe injuries caused him to suffer from massive blood loss, he had about 4000cc of blood transfused, which is about an entire body of blood. Lau says he has been sweating a lot and jokes that he has hot red blood flowing through his veins now.
Doctors claim that the cleaver used to cut Lau was extremely sharp, piercing through his body and even cutting through small bits of bone. Luckily, his rib cage was able to block cuts from injuring his internal organs. Lau says that he was lucky no major organs have been damaged but explains that it’s not because his attacker had mercy, but rather a merciless killer crossed paths with a man with a hard shell.
